Elections are a circus to entertain us and to make us feel free and give us the illusion that we are free. On the county and state level, voters do have some say, but when we get to the national level, we don't have much to say. Big money picks the presidential candidates. When it comes to Congress, they represent the ones who contribute to their campaign funds or pay them bribes.
When politicians are campaigning, they promise to cut spending and are for smaller government and good paying jobs. They all sound like a broken record in this respect. After they are elected, then they do just the opposite.
If we were to have a true democracy, we should have the major issues put on the ballot every two years and let the voters decide if we want perpetual war for perpetual peace, if we want to stop free trade, if we want to close our borders to the Third World and if we want to deport all the illegal aliens.
If we could change things by voting, they would make it illegal. Ron Paul is our only hope. Let's support him.
