To everyone who in any way helped make the Big Sky Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on April 20-21 a reality: Thank you! Thank you!
Having just celebrated my 91st birthday, I would never have thought it possible that I and other World War II veterans would be able to participate in such a marvelous journey as the Big Sky Honor Flight. I thought World War II was long forgotten by the average citizen, except as a few pages in history books.
When I was a young man, I reacted in disbelief and anger as our country was attacked by another. My friends and I took the assault personally, and it shook our country to its very core. It was then that we discovered that our various skills and abilities could work together to form an unbeatable force. We also found we must and could depend upon one another in times of need.
My heartfelt thanks goes to all of you who made this Honor Flight a reality. I am overwhelmed by your generosity and caring. My entire family joins with me in profound gratitude for the unforgettable gift of your time and effort.
