In response to the Sept. 1 guest editorial written by Bethany Letiecq and Travis McAdam concerning LR-121, I would like to ask the following questions: If there are 5,000 illegal undocumented people in Montana, why are they still here? If they know these people are in Montana, aren’t Letiecq and McAdam not responsible to report them?
If it is okay to break one law, then is it okay to drive drunk? Is it okay to fill our jails and our prison with law-breaking citizens of the USA, but it is not okay to punish illegals? We could save many tax dollars and staff costs if we ignored the laws.
I have always taught my children and grandchildren that the laws of our country are for everyone, not just the laws we want to follow or the laws that are comfortable, and they are the same for any ethnic group. Has that changed?
