I really don't care if the transcontinental pipeline is ever built. I know it will create about 50 permanent jobs in Montana. So what? In the long run, it will cost us more than $1 at the pumps in the future. Our government loosened up the oil reserves to help the average person, and it's a shame it's wasted this way.

I went on the computer and asked some questions on how the pipeline will benefit us. I found out all the crude that's going to Texas will be refined (the federal laws say no U.S. crude can be shipped out of the country). The refined gas and diesel will be loaded onto ships and sent overseas. The refined crude is about the same amount as we buy from the Arab countries. They say they may keep less than .01 percent in the U.S. My question is why — unless it's for controls on other governments?

They, the senators and representatives in our government, still don't really care about the average family making a living.
