I was rummaging around my memorabilia the other day, and I came across a money clip that was awarded to me by Frank Pratt, owner of the Sunset Bowling alley, stating that I had rolled a 603 series in the senior 55 and holding league on Dec. 15, 2000.
Wow! What a difference of 11 years makes in the game of bowling.
Every day in The Billings Gazette sports page, I see a rash of 300 games rolled and 700 and, yes, even 800 series rolled.
This makes me wonder if the expertise of today's bowlers has remarkably improved, or maybe the bowling balls and the preparation and the blocking of the alleys may be partly responsible for this?

Ah, to be young again and roll down the lanes at Sunset.
