As a lifelong Republican who has devoted much of my life to the conservative cause, I must express my disgust at our elected GOP legislators. Instead of fulfilling campaign promises to create jobs and repair our economy, they've instead chosen to focus their attention on legislating their personal "morality" on our state.
Turning nearly 30,000 Montanans into criminals overnight and denying medicine to patients suffering from debilitating illnesses seems highly immoral, and I'm ashamed to have helped any of these legislators get elected. Conservative principles have obviously been abandoned in favor of legislation ruled by fear and ignorance.
This session, I've yet to see legislation to create any jobs, let alone to replace the thousands of positions that will be eliminated by passing Speaker Milburn's HB 161.
Obviously the law requires some change. Several aspects absolutely require clarification to set clear boundaries. Repealing, however, is a lazy, cowardly and hypocritical action that will change the way I vote forever more.

Ignoring the will of 62 percent of Montanans isn't my idea of responsible legislation, and plenty of Montanans agree with me. Montana deserves policies founded on facts, not emotions or religious agendas.
