Since the buzz today is about wasteful government spending, I would like to comment on something that I have read about recently. It's the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's continued spending on the Wolf Reintroduction Program.
Even though the mountain states have taken over wolf management from the federal government, we still have Mr. Mike Jiminez, U.S. Fish and Wildlife's wolf reintroduction coordinator, flying around in helicopters (over 400 flights from one pilot alone) darting, collaring and transporting wolves.
My question is: Why do we still need Mr. Jiminez managing the wolves? This seems like a duplicitous waste of taxpayer money.
