A man accused of raping a 5-year-old has admitted charges under a plea deal.

Jared Alan Doney, 21, pleaded guilty in a change of plea hearing on Feb. 9. With Doney originally charged with sexual intercourse without consent, the state plans to dismiss that charge at sentencing and let the alternative charge of sexual assault remain.

The state will recommend 30 years with the Department of Corrections, with 20 years suspended. The state will also recommend Doney complete sex offender treatment.

The victim first reported that Doney raped her in December 2015, according to court documents. The victim later described multiple sexual acts that Doney made her do.
