A 29-year-old man was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for his second offense as a prostitution client.
Steven Cory Unger was sentenced to four years with the DOC on Nov. 27. The sentence was what the state had recommended under a plea deal, and will run concurrently to Unger’s sexual abuse of children case in Dawson County from 2014.
Unger must complete sex offender treatment, obtain a psychosexual evaluation and follow the evaluation's recommendations as part of his sentencing requirements.
The case was a result of a Department of Justice investigation into an online advertisement for sex in the Billings area. A sex trafficking victim was rescued as part of the operation, the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office noted in charging documents. No additional information about the victim’s circumstances was included.
Unger faced a possible maximum of five years in prison for the charge. He was was caught in 2015 in another prostitution sting in North Dakota.
