Billings Police arrested a man late Monday afternoon after he fled from officers in a stolen car.
The man was driving a blue sedan that had been reported stolen in the area south of Laurel Road near Wonderpark Drive. Officers in the area saw the car, recognized it as stolen and approached the man, said Billings Police Sgt. Matt Chaney.
"When he was approached by the officers he took off," Chaney said.
The man drove through a fence, lost control of the car and crashed into the awning of a prefabricated home on Wonderpark Drive, Chaney said.
Officers arrested the man at the scene of the wreck; Billings Police have not yet released his identity.
More than half a million dollars in personal property went missing in Billings during 2017 in the form of 118 stolen cars that were never recovered.
