STANLEY, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol on Thursday released the name of a 26-year-old Parshall man who was killed after his pickup collided with a semi-trailer Tuesday on Highway 2 in western North Dakota.

David Sopher was driving a westbound 2001 Silverado when it struck the right rear of the trailer, sending the pickup into a ditch, the patrol said. Sopher, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. The semi-truck driver, 43-year-old Dwayne Reynolds of Kansas City, Missouri, was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

The crash happened about 7:40 p.m. in Stanley.
