GREAT FALLS — A 32-year-old Browning woman who is serving a 55-year prison term after being convicted of negligent homicide in the death of her 2-year-old son has been sentenced to nine months in federal prison for continuing to cash his Social Security checks.
Summer ManyWhiteHorses was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon in Great Falls.
ManyWhiteHorses' nine-month sentence for Social Security fraud is to run consecutively to her state prison term. She was also ordered to pay $3,800 in restitution.
Prosecutors say ManyWhiteHorses cashed six Social Security checks meant to help care for her autistic son after the boy died in late May 2008. The boy's body was found in the trunk of his mother's car in September 2008.
