An Ashland man who admitted giving marijuana to minors will spend about a year in federal prison.
Senior U.S. District Judge Jack Shanstrom Wednesday sentenced Joseph Daniel Little Coyote Sr., 67, to a year and a day in prison. The term will allow Little Coyote to earn time off for good behavior.
Little Coyote pleaded guilty in April to five counts of marijuana distribution to persons under age 21 in 2005 and 2006.
Prosecutors said FBI agents investigated Little Coyote after getting information that he had been providing pot to minors for several years. Little Coyote did not sell the marijuana and the amount he gave out was unknown.
