Body in U-haul truck ID'd

BOZEMAN - A man found dead in the front seat of a U-Haul Co. van here had been living in unlocked moving trucks for two weeks, Gallatin County Coroner Duncan MacNab said Tuesday.

MacNab identified the man as Bryan Dennis, 48.

Dennis was found dead Jan. 18 in a truck at the U-Haul store on North Seventh Avenue. He died of hypothermia, MacNab said.

Dennis had been staying in a Bozeman motel two weeks before his death, MacNab said. He then told a friend he was going to live in U-Haul trucks.

Dennis was unemployed at the time of his death and had apparently moved to Bozeman from Colorado about a year ago, MacNab said.

Temperatures were below zero on the nights leading up to his death. It appeared Dennis had been dead for at least three days before his frozen body was found.
