BUTTE -- The head of Butte Celebrations pleaded guilty on Thursday morning to felony driving under the influence.
Mollie Kirk, 61, will be sentenced after a presentence investigation in Butte District Court for a guilty plea to her fourth DUI offense. District Judge Brad Newman allowed Kirk to remain free on special court conditions. No sentencing date was set Thursday.
Kirk could be sentenced to up to 13 months with the Montana Department of Corrections and an additional five-year suspended sentence.
Kirk was arrested for driving under the influence on March 16 in the area of Texas and Marcia. She had three prior DUI convictions at the time. Kirk initially pleaded not guilty to the charge in April.
Kirk was scheduled to go to trial this Tuesday, before agreeing to change her plea last week.
Kirk is the longtime director of Butte Celebrations, which organizes the Mining City's St. Patrick's Day parade, the Fourth of July parade and other events.
