HELENA - Mike McGivern of Butte and his wife, Carole, claimed the $1 million prize Monday from the Montana Millionaire 2008 game.

McGivern bought his winning ticket - with the winning number 089574 -at a Town Pump on Harrison Avenue in Butte. The McGiverns claimed the prize at Montana Lottery headquarters in Helena. McGivern is a safety manager for Montana Resources. He bought just one Montana Millionaire ticket for the game.

Mike and Carole have three young children. Mike McGivern said they plan to put money aside for the children's college education, and said that maybe they'll also take a nice vacation.

In addition to the $1 million ticket, five tickets worth $100,000, were sold. The sales locations and ticket numbers are Town Pump in Hamilton, 088035; an Albertsons on Grand Avenue in Billings, 042329; Holiday StationStore on 15th Street North in Great Falls, 037467; Rocky Mountain Supply in Ennis, 041577; and Loaf 'n Jug on 2nd Avenue North in Great Falls, 122326.

Ashley Harpine of Great Falls claimed one of the $100,000 prizes Monday afternoon. Harpine said she plans to use some of the money to buy a new car and save the rest. Verlin Little Light of Billings has also claimed one of the five $100,000 prizes.

Five tickets each worth $10,000 also were sold. The sales locations and ticket numbers are Blue Basket Market in Billings, 115084; Kum & Go in Missoula, 052820; Kernaghan's Pik & Pump in Great Falls, 051381; Albertsons on North Montana Avenue in Helena, 136561; and Loaf 'n Jug on Smelter Avenue in Great Falls, 020419.
