DICKINSON, N.D. - A BNSF spokesman says four cars of a freight train traveling from Mandan to Montana have derailed east of Dickinson.
Spokesman Gus Melonas said no one was hurt. He said the cars derailed about 11:40 a.m. about 16 miles east of Dickinson. He said the temperature was about 4 degrees below zero at the time.
BNSF is investigating the cause of the derailment. Melonas says the train was headed for Laurel, carrying "general merchandise," and the cars that derailed were empty.
He said BNSF is bringing in crews to assess track damage and clean up, and track line is expected to be open Saturday.
