BOZEMAN - It's Ag Appreciation weekend at Montana State University in Bozeman and a groundbreaking ceremony is among the activities.
The ceremony celebrated a $15.7 million building being constructed to house the MSU Department of Animal and Range Science. Construction began in August and is scheduled for completion in 2010.
Private donations are supplying 60 percent of the money for the building. The Montana Legislature appropriated nearly $3.6 million.
Because construction is under way, only a few people, including MSU's president, participated in the groundbreaking Saturday. Others were in an MSU building to watch a live video feed of the ceremony.
