KALISPELL — A Columbia Falls man died in the collision of his dirt bike and a sport utility vehicle here.
Wayne Kennedy, 19, was on the bike Wednesday night when the collision happened as the SUV westbound on U.S. 2 attempted a left turn, investigators said. Kennedy was thrown about 30 feet, the Montana Highway Patrol said. The bike smashed into the windshield of a car in an auto dealership's parking lot.
Kennedy was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he died.
The death pushed Montana's 2006 traffic fatality toll to 116, the same as the number on June 28, 2005.
