A controlled burn near Luther in Carbon County got out of hand Sunday, threatening a structure.

Red Lodge Fire Capt. Jon Trapp said the 30-acre fire was mostly grass and sage brush, and was burning near some structures.

"We set up structure protection near them," Trapp said. "The wind picked up a little more than the land owner thought it would."

The land owner was burning off grass in a grazing area. Trapp said four Red Lodge Fire engines and two tender trucks, as well as an engine from Roberts Rural Fire District and two engines from Belfry Rural Fire District responded to douse the blaze.
