BOZEMAN — Gallatin County authorities have identified the man whose body was found in a wheat field near Montana State University.

Jason C. Wright, 26, of the Bozeman area, died of multiple gunshot wounds, Coroner Duncan MacNab said Monday.

Wright's body was found at about 1:30 p.m. Friday at MSU's Arthur Post Agronomy Farm, about 10 hours after Bozeman police investigated reports of gunshots in the area.

Investigators don't have a suspect or a motive and would not say what kind of gun was used.

The sheriff's office asked the public's help in locating Wright's 2003 black Chevy Tahoe, possibly with a temporary license number AAA D784. It isn't known if the person who shot Wright took the Tahoe, but it has been missing since Wright's death, Sheriff Jim Cashell said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call the sheriff's office at 406-582-2100 or Bozeman police at 406-586-1131.
