MISSOULA - Sentencing is scheduled May 1 for two Kalispell residents who received nearly $7,900 in federal food-stamp benefits to which they were not entitled.

Jeffrey A. Albrecht and Lisa S. Albrecht, both 42, appeared before a federal judge in Missoula on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to government program fraud.

Prosecutors say that between mid 2005 and late 2007, the Albrechts lied about income and employment when applying for food stamps and submitting periodic reports required of food-stamp recipients. Prosecutors also say the couple received about $1,000 in undeserved benefits through Medicaid, the government program of health care for the poor.
