A high-speed pursuit Friday night east of Crow Agency ended in a single-vehicle rollover that killed one person and injured two others.

The crash involving a 2003 red Cadillac Catera happened at about 10:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 212, nine miles east of Crow Agency, the Montana Highway Patrol said. A 17-year-old male, a passenger whose address and name were not disclosed, died at the scene.

A 21-year-old woman from Crow Agency was driving the car. Also in the vehicle was a 15-year-old female from Lame Deer.

The Cadillac was driving westbound on Highway 212 at a high rate of speed, the MPH said, with a Lame Deer BIA police vehicle in pursuit. The driver lost control of the car around a left-hand curve, ran off the right side of the road, and the vehicle overturned.

Two of the people not wearing seat belts were thrown from the car. The road was dry at the time of the crash, the MHP said, and speed and alcohol were both suspected as factors.
