A man has been found dead alongside the Montana Rail Link tracks near downtown Missoula, apparently hidden by deep snow for several days.
Police are on the scene investigating. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and it is too early to determine if foul play was involved, said Missoula Police Sgt. Travis Welsh.
A Montana Rail Link employee found the body about noon Tuesday near the Kettlehouse Brewery. The man had been dead for more than 24 hours, Welsh said, but had been buried in snow.

Welsh said the man was possibly a transient, and was known to Missoula police. He had lived in Missoula for less than a year.
Welsh said it is possible the man fell off a train and died of exposure, or foul play could have been involved.
