GREAT FALLS — Officials say a 24-year-old Great Falls man has died after being electrocuted following a minor vehicle crash on State Highway 21 that downed a power line.
Dillon S. Katzenberger died Saturday morning after coming in contact with a fence wire charged with an electric current from the fallen power line.
Lewis and Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson said that Katzenberger was uninjured in the crash when his pickup left the road, went through a ditch and hit a power pole.
Nelson says Katzenberger called friends for help and when they arrived he walked to his truck where he came in contact with the fence and was killed instantly.
The Montana Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor in the crash.
