Great Falls man reaches plea agreement in rapes

GREAT FALLS — An 18-year-old Great Falls man facing charges that he raped four girls between the ages of 12 and 14 has reached a plea agreement that recommends he be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Kristian Underdahl pleaded guilty to one count of sexual intercourse without consent during a hearing before District Judge Greg Pinski on Monday. He is also to enter an Alford plea on another rape charge before District Judge Kenneth Neill. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop eight other rape counts and recommend he be sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 35 years of probation.

Pinski stressed that he has the discretion to hand down a longer sentence.
