BUTTE — A homeless man was sentenced Wednesday to 40 years in prison for beating an Anaconda man to death in Butte in October 2011.

Shane Hans, 36, pleaded guilty last year to felony mitigated deliberate homicide in Butte district court. He is accused of punching and kicking to death 32-year-old Teddy James Hildebrant of Anaconda on the morning of Oct. 12, 2011.

Butte District Judge Kurt Krueger ordered Hans serve his time at the Montana State Prison.
