HELENA — A state representative from Livingston says he will ask for a re-count after a final tally of votes from last week's election narrowed the margin by which he was losing.

Democratic Rep. Bob Ebinger is down by 11 votes after provisional ballots were counted Tuesday. He had been down 15 votes to Republican challenger Dan Skattum.

The re-count likely won't take place for several weeks.

In another close House race, a count of provisional ballots put incumbent Democratic Rep. JP Pomnichowski of Bozeman further behind Republican Tom Burnett.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Pomnichowski conceded once the tally showed her down 71 votes.

Republicans won in many traditional Democratic strongholds on their way to claiming 68 of the 100 House seats.
