A Livingston man admitted in federal court Tuesday that he posted on the Internet a MySpace page pretending to be a young girl looking for sex with an older man.

James Henry Peavy, 60, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child porn in U.S.District Court in Billings.

Acting on a tip received in May 2009 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, law enforcement officers traced the MySpace page to Peavy, Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia Hurd said.

Peavy admitted to posting the fake page and agreed to a search of his computer. Investigators found numerous child porn images, including videos and movies of prepubescent children and children engaged in sadistic or masochistic abuse.

Peavy faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.

Chief U.S. District Judge set sentencing for July 6 and continued Peavy's release.
