HAVRE - A Harlem man has been charged with murder in the beating death of his former girlfriend, whose body was found on the floor of a shop his father rents in Havre, court records said.

Eric J. Jones, 24, was arrested early Sunday at the residence of another former girlfriend. He was charged Monday in the beating death of Kimberly Calf Boss Ribs. He remained jailed at the Hill County Detention Center on $500,000 bail Tuesday.

Calf Boss Ribs had severe head trauma, prosecutors said. Her body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

Jones' father, Kim, called 911 at about 11 p.m. Saturday to report there was a woman lying on the floor of his shop and he didn't know if she was breathing.

Kristy Champine told officers that Jones had arrived at her residence intoxicated, upset and crying with blood on his pants, arm and hands. Champine said Jones told her that he hurt Calf Boss Ribs, court records said.
