A Montana man was flown by air ambulance to Billings Clinic Saturday night after he was shot in the face on the Fort Peck Reservation in northeastern Montana.
The man was expected to survive his injuries, Sheridan County Undersheriff Scott Nelson said Sunday.
The suspected shooter was arrested by sheriff's deputies without incident, Nelson said. Because the suspect is a tribal member and the shooting happened in Reserve, a small town on the northeast corner of the reservation, the case is being handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he said.
An FBI investigator did not return a phone call requesting additional details Sunday.
The suspect is being held at the tribal jail in Poplar, but Nelson said it wasn't clear whether any charges had been filed against him.
