A 65-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon after losing control of his vehicle on Interstate 94 about 20 miles east of Miles City.
Montana Highway Patrol dispatchers said the man was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup eastbound at about 4 p.m. The man apparently lost control on the icy roadway, drove off the shoulder and hit a guardrail. The truck then came back onto the interstate and hit a tractor trailer traveling eastbound.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His 87-year-old male passenger was injured. It is unknown if either man was wearing a seatbelt or if alcohol was involved.
The 40-year-old driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
