GREAT FALLS — A 68-year-old transient who pleaded guilty to robbing a Great Falls bank of $620 this spring has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

KFBB-TV reports Walter Barrentine was sentenced Thursday by District Judge Julie Macek to 20 years in prison with 10 suspended.

Barrentine admitted robbing a Stockman Bank branch in Great Falls in April by handing the teller a note demanding money and saying that he had a weapon. He later admitted he did not have a gun.
