GREAT FALLS - A 32-year-old Great Falls man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for an attack on his former girlfriend.
Sink's sentence, handed down Wednesday by District Judge Thomas McKittrick, also includes a 20-year suspended sentence for aggravated burglary.
Prosecutors say in December 2007, Sink broke into his ex-girlfriend's house through a window.
The woman says Sink threw a microwave at her and beat her with a toaster and a deep-fryer before pushing her into the bathroom and beating her head against the floor.
A Cascade County deputy called it one of the bloodiest crime scenes she'd been to. The woman was treated at the hospital and released.
Defense attorney Kenneth Olson sought a five-year sentence, saying the woman was not badly injured. McKittrick said the woman escaped without serious injury only because the deputies arrived when they did.
