A Miles City man admitted Tuesday he received child pornography on his computer.

Donald John Mullen, 21, pleaded guilty in federal court to an information charging him with receipt of child porn and admitted to a forfeiture count.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia Hurd said an FBI investigation of child porn access by persons using file sharing networks led to Mullen and his computer. A search warrant was served on Mullen’s residence in May, and agents seized various computer equipment.

An examination found hundreds of child porn images and movies Mullen had received through the Internet in 2008. The images and movies included children who were prepubescent and who were engaged in sadistic or masochistic abuse.

Mullen faces possible penalties of a minimum five years to 20 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine. U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn Ostby set sentencing for March 18 and continued Mullen’s release on conditions.
