MISSOULA — The University of Montana and the Missoula Police Department confirmed Monday they are looking into an alleged sexual assault that occurred on campus.
Missoula Police Lt. Scott Brodie said the assault allegedly occurred in a UM dormitory last October and was reported over the weekend.
“We received a report from UM, but we haven’t assigned the case yet,” Brodie said. “It’s something we’ll follow up on.“

Peggy Kuhr, vice president of communications at UM, said the school also was aware of the incident, which allegedly occurred in Miller Hall last semester.
The alleged victim reported the incident only recently, and Kuhr said officials are looking into the case.
