GREAT FALLS - A jury found a Great Falls businessman guilty of raping and molesting a young girl and attempting to molest another girl.
The jury convicted 56-year-old Richard Cunningham of sexual intercourse without consent, sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.
Prosecution and defense attorneys made their closing arguments Monday morning after a weeklong trial, and the jury deliberated about four hours before coming back with the unanimous verdicts.
Sentencing is Dec. 18.
Cunningham, a co-owner of the Howard's Pizza restaurants, has been free on bail, but District Judge Dirk Sandefur ordered that he be held in jail while awaiting sentencing.
Under "Jessica's Law" passed by the Montana Legislature last year, an adult convicted of raping a child age 12 or under must spend at least 25 years in prison without eligibility for parole.
