HELENA - Sen. Max Baucus' office says Montana Labor and Industry Commissioner Keith Kelly has been nominated to be the U.S. Department of Labor's assistant secretary for veterans affairs.
In the new role, Kelly would head the Labor Department's Veterans Employment and Training Service. The program is meant to help veterans get jobs.
Baucus' office announced the nomination on Wednesday. The Montana Democrat says, "We owe it to our veterans to make sure they return home from service with a good paycheck instead of an unemployment check."
