HELENA — The Montana University System says enrollment is reaching a new high with 39,100 students in state colleges.
The latest figures are being presented Wednesday to the Board of Regents that oversees the state's college system.
A report shows that enrollment increased more than 5 percent since last fall at the state's universities and colleges.
The University of Montana reports its enrollment has topped 15,000 for the first time, while Montana State University officials say they have a record 13,559 students.
Large increases were seen in older students returning to school, the number of students attending two-year programs and transferring from them to four-year programs.
