BOZEMAN - Montana State University is looking for a new vice president for finance to oversee $325 million in spending on the Bozeman campus.
Craig Roloff filled the position for nearly a decade and has been replaced on an interim basis by Terry Leist, who was budget and fiscal director for academic affairs in the provost's office. No reason was given for Roloff's sudden and unexpected departure, but MSU President Waded Cruzado told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on Wednesday she would not characterize it as a firing.
MSU issued a short announcement about the change March 22, and Cruzado said it would be inappropriate for her to discuss a personnel matter.
Roloff, whose contract expires June 30, worked at MSU for 33 years. He could not be reached for comment.
