Authorities have released the identity of a 34-year-old woman who was killed in a wreck near Park City early Monday that also hospitalized her 13-year-old daughter.
Karen Doane was pronounced dead at the scene of the rollover on Interstate 90, said Stillwater County Sheriff and Coroner Cliff Brophy. Doane's daughter, who was also ejected, was taken to a Billings hospital for treatment. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Doane was westbound when her 1999 Ford passenger car drifted to the right. She overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to slide sideways and roll twice.
Doane was partially ejected, and the car rolled on top of her before she was totally ejected.
A semitrailer driver parked outside the wreck to protect the girl until crews arrived, Brophy said. Information about her condition was not available Thursday night.
