BUTTE - A Polaris woman has been given a six-year deferred sentence for stabbing her boyfriend last year during an argument over how much beer was left in the refrigerator.
Beaverhead County Attorney Jed Fitch said that Cynthia Green also was ordered to pay more than $33,000 in restitution to her boyfriend, who suffered a punctured lung in the April 29, 2010, stabbing.
Prosecutors say Green also threatened to kill her mother with a large butcher knife during the argument. Fitch says Green pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a weapon as part of a plea agreement.
During Tuesday's sentencing, District Judge Loren Tucker of Dillon also ordered Green not to use medical marijuana even though she has a medical marijuana card.
