HELENA - Gov. Brian Schweitzer will give his State of the State address tonight in the House chambers to members of the Montana Legislature, beginning at 7 p.m.

It will be Schweitzer's third speech since taking office in 2005. His spokeswoman, Sarah Elliott, said the speech likely will contain a surprise or two. His speech is expected to run 20 to 30 minutes.

Governors traditionally use their State of the State addresses to outline their priorities for the legislative session.

After the Democratic governor concludes his address in the House, Senate President Bob Story, R-Park City, will give a seven-minute Republican response to Schweitzer in the Senate chambers.
