A man suspected in the shooting death of a 26-year-old woman in a Miles City bar Friday night was found dead Saturday morning.

A Custer County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said the shooting happened shortly before midnight at the Golden Spur, 1014 S. Haynes Ave. Few details on the shooting or the events leading up to it were available Saturday.

The woman was taken to Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, where she was pronounced dead from at least one gunshot wound, the spokeswoman said. A 27-year-old man was also taken to Holy Rosary to be treated for injuries in the incident, apparently from a gunshot wound as well.

The names of the woman and man have not been released.

The Miles City Police Department and Custer County Sheriff’s Office sought a 32-year-old man in connection with the shooting. He was allegedly driving a black and silver 1997 Ford pickup truck,

According to a press release from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, officers aboard a helicopter provided by the Department of Homeland Security found the truck on Tongue River Road in southwest Custer County at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

When officers approached, they found the man dead inside the truck. His name and the cause of his death were not released Saturday.

The Custer County Sheriff’s Office said the names of the victims and suspect will not be released until Monday.

Authorities search for Miles City shooting suspect

Law enforcement in Custer County is searching for a suspect in the shooting death of a 26-year-old woman in a Miles City bar last night.

A Custer County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said the shooting happened shortly before midnight at the Golden Spur, 1014 S Haynes Ave. As of noon today, few details were available on the shooting.

The woman was taken to Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, where she was pronounced dead from at least one gunshot wound, the spokeswoman said. A 27-year-old man was also taken to Holy Rosary to be treated for injuries in the incident, but it was not immediately clear if he was shot as well.

The names of the man and woman have not been released.

The Miles City Police Department and Custer County Sheriff's Office are searching for a 32-year-old man in connection with the shooting. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall with brown hair and blue eyes and is believed to be driving a black and silver 1997 Ford pickup truck.

The spokeswoman said more information on the shooting will be available later today.
