BUTTE -- A 20-year-old Butte man who died snowmobiling on Sunday near Philipsburg has been identified as Jasen Kellogg.
Kellogg was riding on a ridge that separates Red Lion from Warm Springs drainage, east of Discovery Basin Ski Area, when he was caught in an avalanche. Authorities received an emergency call about 2:40 p.m. Sunday after the avalanche. Fellow riders performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on Kellogg, but he could not be revived.
Kellogg is a Butte High graduate. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel on Meadowlark Lane in Butte.
