An infant remains in critical condition after a crash on Bozeman Hill Wednesday.
According to Montana Highway Patrol reports, the accident happened at about 11 p.m. on Interstate 90 in Park County near mile marker 324. The vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup, was traveling west when it hit a patch of ice. The driver lost control and the truck rolled once, landing right-side-up next to the road, said Trooper Blaine Heavner.
The passengers in the pickup were a mother and her three children. The infant, who is about 6-weeks-old, was not restrained in a safety seat and suffered severe head injuries.
The infant was flown by helicopter to Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls, Heavner said.
The driver, the mother and her other two children, ages 2 and 4, are all from the Belgrade area and suffered only minor injuries.
Heavner did not know if anyone in the vehicle was wearing seat belts, and is still investigating the accident.
