A woman was arrested Tuesday near Fort Peck on a felony kidnapping warrant out of Michigan.
Valley County Sheriff Glen Meier said Jennifer Jarmin, 31, was charged with felony kidnapping and custodial interference. The warrant was issued out of Niles, Mich., about 100 miles south of Grand Rapids, and the sheriff's office arrested her a short time later.
Custodial interference is defined as a person, including a parent or another person with custodial rights, taking a child with the intent of disrupting a parent's physical custody of the child.
Meier said Jarmin was arrested in Park Grove without incident and that her two children, ages 2 and 11, were taken into custody by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.
Jarmin is being held on a $20,000 bond at the Valley County jail and is fighting extradition to Michigan, Meier said. He did not provide details of the warrant or kidnapping in Michigan.
