GREAT FALLS - Authorities said a woman suffered burns on her hands, arms and face after she picked up a makeshift bomb made from a soda bottle - one of three that exploded on the South Side of Great Falls on Friday night.

Police said the first bottle, which exploded around 7:30 p.m., was filled with an unknown chemical. They said the woman, whose name has not been released, put the bottle down before it exploded but was still hit by the chemical.

Great Falls Police Sgt. Shane Sorensen said she suffered possible chemical burns, but he did not know if she was taken to a hospital.

Two other explosions were reported Friday night. There were no other injuries.

In all, police have found a 1-liter bottle and two 2-liter bottles.
