A 56-year-old skier died on Whitefish Mountain Resort Friday, according to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office.
The skier, a Canadian man, became separated from a friend he was skiing with. The friend reported him missing, and he was found two hours later by Whitefish Mountain Resort Ski patrol in a tree well in-bounds, near the mountain's summit.
The Sheriff's Office did not release the victim's name, as they are still notifying next of kin.

A separate incident Friday night initiated a search for a 30-year-old Canadian snowboarder who was reported missing by friends. He was found after the Two Bear Air Rescue helicopter located him out of bounds shortly before midnight, below the ski resort between Northern Lights Drive and Whitefish Lake.
He had become lost in the dark, and has now been returned to the resort.
Another man, Dr. Jon Torgerson, is still being searched for Saturday.
