GILLETTE, Wyo. - The Campbell County Commission on Tuesday appointed a 59-year-old school board member to finish the term of state Rep. Erin Mercer.

Gregg Blikre was among three candidates selected by Campbell County Republicans for the county commission to consider.

The other two were 63-year-old retired teacher Vicki Swenson and 60-year-old businessman Michael Ryan.

Blikre has served as a trustee with the Campbell County School Board for four years.

Mercer resigned Aug. 12 after deciding to move to Buffalo.

GILLETTE, Wyo. - The Campbell County Commission is scheduled Tuesday to choose one of three candidates to finish the term of state Rep. Erin Mercer.

Mercer resigned Aug. 12 after deciding to move to Buffalo.

Campbell County Republicans have chosen three candidates to replace Mercer in the Wyoming House. They are 63-year-old Vicki Swenson, a teacher for 32 years; 59-year-old Gregg Blikre, a member of the Campbell County school board; and 60-year-old Michael Ryan, owner of a trash-hauling company.

A fourth candidate, 34-year-old construction worker Chris Smith, didn't get enough votes for his name to be submitted to the County Commission.
